[Tutorial] How to Update Samsung Galaxy S3 I535 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Custom ROM Firmware

After success from the Galaxy S2, Samsung made another galaxy S series and definitely it succeed. On this article i will now talk about the device nor give a review. But, on this article i will show you about how to update the device into Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been made for the owners. It gives something different and good to try. So, just read the rest of the article and follow carefully.

What you need to prepare:

  • A rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 I535 and a PC
  • Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data. You may skip this step.
  • On both devices computer and handset uninstall or temporarily deactivate the antivirus protection, or any other security protection.
  • Enable USB debugging option on your device or else you will not be able to properly connect your phone with the computer. By going to “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging” and check the last option.
  • Make sure your device has at least 80% of phone battery charge.


Follow the steps below:

  1. First you need to get the CM10.2 update package on your computer. 
  2. Download the software from here.
  3. Don’t unzip the package just place it on desktop.
  4. Then, connect your Galaxy S3 with the computer by using the official USB cable.
  5. Select the update file from desktop and copy-paste it or drag and drop the firmware from your computer to your phone’s SD card.
  6. Disconnect the devices and turn off your phone.
  7. Wait a few seconds.
  8. Then, press at the same time and for a few seconds the power, volume up and home buttons.
  9. By doing that the Galaxy S3 will be rebooted into recovery mode.
  10. Use the recovery mode menu and select “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvick cache” – remember to backup the data first.
  11. Return to the main menu of recovery.
  12. Then select “install zip from SD card” followed by “choose zip from SD card”.
  13. Pick the firmware file from the SD card and start the flashing operation.
  14. When the installation procedure stops, select “+++go back+++” and “reboot system now”.
  15. If your phone gets stuck in a boot loop return to recovery mode and select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”; this should resolve the problems.
