Samsung Galaxy Ace has been made for a long time ago. It is unique and a middle smartphone equipped with standard specs. But, it gives almost everything we want. On this article i will explain about how to update Samsung Galaxy Ace to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXMF1 Firmware.

What you need to prepare:
- A rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace and a PC
- Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data. You may skip this step.
- On both devices computer and handset uninstall or temporarily deactivate the antivirus protection, or any other security protection.
- Enable USB debugging option on your device or else you will not be able to properly connect your phone with the computer.
- Make sure your device has at least 80% of phone battery charge.
Follow the steps below:
- You can download the update file on your computer by using the link from here.
- Unzip the downloaded firmware on desktop.
- Then, take care of Odin: download the tool, unzip it and install the program on your computer.
- Finally, run Odin.
- If you your PC you don’t have the Ace 2 drivers installed, do flash them before going any further; you can use Samsung KIES for installing the drivers.
- Take your phone and turn it off (for good).
- Then, wait a few seconds and press the Power, Volume Down and Home buttons at the same time – the download mode will be reached.
- With the handset booted into download mode and with Odin running on the computer, connect your device with the PC via USB cable.
- Once the connection establish, on Odin the “added” message will be displayed. Furthermore, the ID:COM section will be either yellow or blue.
- If not, you shouldn’t complete the rest of the steps. Resolve the issues by unplugging the USB cable, closing Odin, reinstalling the drivers on the computer and repeating the steps from above.
- If everything if going as planned from Odin you should select “PDA”.
- Then, you should pick the update file from desktop.
- On Odin the re-partition option shouldn’t be checked; the same is applying for the f. reset time option.
- Now, click on “start”.
- The update process will begin; wait while the installation operation is running.
- You will know when it’s done as the “pass” message will be displayed on Odin and the ID:COM section will now be green.
- Disconnect your Ace 2 from the computer and reboot your smartphone.
- As mentioned, if your phone gets stuck in a boot loop you will have to reboot into recovery and select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. You can enter recovery mode by pressing and holding the Power, Volume Up and Home buttons for a few seconds.
