Lumia 1520 will be the Nokia's Bandit Phablet Features 6-inch

Finally an interesting news has came out earlier. The most waiting smartphone or actually better to be called the Phone and Tablet or Phablet which made by Nokia is merely come to be true. The Phablet which will be based on the Windows Phone OS made by Nokia later on will be called by the code Lumia 1520.

Prolific source of insider info @evleaks posted that the Nokia Bandit will bear the retail name Nokia Lumia 1520. The Bandit is one of several leaked codenames and is most likely the 6" 1080p Windows Phone phablet we saw on a few occasions before.

Nokia Bandit = Lumia 1520
— @evleaks (@evleaks)

We've stumbled upon its front panel before, but the interesting bit is the software update called GDR3, which will enable 1080p resolution support in Windows Phone 8 along with support for quad-core processors.

Which is where the Nokia RM-940 comes in – it received a Bluetooth certification recently and attached to that certification was a separate certification for Snapdragon 800, Snapdragon 400 and Snapdragon 200 chipsets. That combined with an earlier rumor points to Snapdragon 800 power in the Nokia Lumia 1520.

Nokia has scheduled a "worldwide premiere" for tomorrow, August 28. Will the Lumia 1520 be there? What about that Windows RT tablet (also with Snapdragon 800)? The event is in Moscow, which isn't one of the traditional cities for major announcements so don't get your hopes up, but we'll be keeping an eye on things anyway.

Nokia Asha 501, The Cheapest Nokia with Cute and Beautiful Design

As the mobile-phone world going crazy now, Nokia seems to be patient waiting for releasing their best smartphone. However, as for now there is one we should take a look which is The Nokia Asha 501. Coming with new Asha platform is based on the SmarterPhone acquisition Nokia made a few years ago. The new interface focuses on swipe events and a new feature called Fastlane.

The Nokia Asha 501 is made of only two parts to make it more durable and cheaper to manufacture. The back is removable to access the microSIM, the pre-installed 4GB microSD card (up to 32GB supported) and the battery.

The phone packs a 3" QVGA capacitive touchscreen on the front (133ppi), it supports two finger multitouch. On the back, there's 3.2MP fixed-focus camera.

The new Asha platform is a grandchild of the MeeGo OS. The phone wakes up with a double tap. It features two home screens - one is Fastlane, the other one is the app drawer.

Fastlane promises to show your present and your past. Present includes currently running apps (yes, multitasking, hell froze over), while Past shows messages and other notifications you’ve received.

The Nokia Asha 501 focuses on 2G connectivity as large parts of emerging markets still rely on the slow mobile Internet. There are two apps to help with that - the Xpress browser compresses traffic and Xpress Now that recommends content based location, preferences and trending topics. Also, a partnership with Facebook and Airtel ensures people can access the social network for free, even without a data plan (this will be for a limited time only).

The Nokia Asha 501 features Wi-Fi connectivity for faster local data transfers, plus Bluetooth 3.0 and microUSB 2.0. 3G-enabled Asha 5xx phones will launch later.

The new Nokia Asha OS will be a very social platform with Facebook, Foursquare, Linkedin, Twitter, Youtube and more available out of box.

There's going to be a dual-SIM version too. The second SIM card is exchangeable without having to remove the battery, a feature Nokia was keen to point out is unique to them.

The Nokia Asha 501 measures 99.2 x 58 x 12.1mm and weighs 98g. The new Asha platform promises to be very efficient - the 1,200mAh battery in the Asha 501 is enough for up to 17 hours of talk time and 48 days of standby (26 days for the dual-SIM). The Nokia Asha 501 will start shipping in June in 90 countries on 60 operators. It will cost $99 before taxes and subsidies for the single-SIM version.

Nokia Lumia 928 Goes Official to Come with Xenon Flash

Today is the big day for Nokia as they were releasing their flagship Nokia Lumia 928. The device is officially announced to come with some  new features to compete with the other fladship devices out there.

The Nokia Lumia 928 packs an 8.7MP image sensor that is optically stabilized and sits behind a 26mm wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens with F/2.0 aperture. Unlike the 920, the new model packs Xenon flash alongside the standard LED flash. It's quite impressive, considering that the Lumia 928 is just 0.5mm thicker than the Lumia 920.

The Nokia Lumia 928 can capture 1080p video at 30fps and record sounds as loud as 140dB thanks to its HAAC wide dynamic range microphones.

The screen is different too – it's still 4.5" in diagonal with 768 x 1,280 pixels resolution, but it's an AMOLED display with ClearBlack and a High Brightness mode for up to 500 nits of brightness. It's still super sensitive and works with fingernails and gloves.

Other than that, the Lumia 928 is not too different from AT&T's Lumia 920 – it runs Windows Phone 8 on a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor with 1GB of RAM, packs 32GB of built-in memory and a 2,000mAh battery.

On the connectivity side there's Verizon's fast 4G LTE along with dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. The phone supports wireless charging too.

The phone will, of course, come with exclusive Nokia goodies like HERE Drive+ worldwide SatNav, Nokia Music, Transit, City Lens and more.

The Nokia Lumia 928 will be available May 16 from Verizon for $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract. For a limited time you'll also get a $25 voucher for the Windows Marketplace. There will be two color versions at launch – Black and White.

Nokia X1-01 is presented in colorful choice, including the red, black, yellow, blue, and white, it really has durable battery live which able to be used one week on one charhe.

This dual-on nokia phone an ultra-simple cell phone with a couple of SIM slots that let you make calls from either card. Now the Nokia X1-01 comes to make take the next step, adding dual-standby,.which means you can receive calls to both SIM cards at all times. The X1-01 seems well fit for emerging markets, where one phone is shared among a whole family.

Having two SIM cards facilitates such usage patterns, while two carefully selected call plans the monthly phone bill can be reduced. Also, there're five separate phonebooks maintained on the phone, so several people can use it without mixing up their contacts. Here's the summary of the Nokia X1-01 features, just keep in mind that the intended price range is €30-€40.

Overall, Nokia X1-01a good phone, even it is very cheap but for its functions the price its fair. The signal is strong but this may vary because of the network provider. Its small but it feels good in hand. The reception is good, clear and loud.Of course the loudspeaker screms like crazy its very loud. The menu its basic but functional in full.As a music player its ok,with some god earphones its own are not very performing.Be careful tho because doesn't support all.It lacks the volume buttons, the 2 and 4 keys on the keypad does that. No video video player so don't get excited. Now the display, its small and the quality its poor,no viewing angles, just look straight at it. The big plus its battery life, huge. So its very good dual phone with very long battery life very good as a basic phone just for talking.

Let's take a look inside the phone, below:

Key features
  • Dual-band GSM connectivity
  • 1.8" 65K-color 128x160 TFT display
  • Simplistic Series 30 user interface
  • Multi-phonebook feature - 5 separate phonebooks
  • MP3 player with dedicated music keys
  • Powerful loudspeaker
  • microSD card slot (16GB supported, hot-swappable)
  • Stereo FM radio
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • Massive 43 days standby, 13 hours talk time
  • Flashlight
  • Very low price
Main disadvantages
  • No quad-band connectivity for either SIM card; no data connectivity
  • Rather limited music player functions; no RDS for the radio
  • No smart dialing
  • Miserable display (almost no such thing as a viewing angle for this one)
  • No camera
  • No Java apps
  • No image gallery or file management of any kind
As we can see there may not be much else in terms of features, but the dedicated music keys and support for 16GB microSD cards make the Nokia X1-01 a good alternative to a dedicated MP3 player. Plug in the provided headset and the powerful loudspeaker turns the phone into a portable FM radio. Nokia claim the loudspeaker is the loudest they've ever produced. So, when you look for your second daily phone, this device is the best choice.

Nokia Lumia 800 Specification and Reviews

Is this really the first windows phone of Nokia ?

Nokia finally introduced its new mobile phone The Lumia 800 that uses Windows Phone 7.5, with a few Nokia-centric additions like Nokia Maps, Nokia Music, and Nokia Drive (turn-by-turn navigation). This phone isn't new, exactly. It has previously existed as the Nokia N9, a thoroughly odd outlier of a phone that may be the only phone to ever use the MeeGo operating system.

Nokia Lumia 800
The Nokia Lumia 800 shares its exterior styling with the previously substantially less hyped Nokia N9, a Meego-based smartphone, although the screen size is reduced from 3.9" (854x480 pixels) to 3.7" (800x480 pixels) to conform to the Windows Phone spec list. The CPU, however, increases from the 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 to the 1.4GHz MSM8255 Snapdragon/Scorpion which certainly helps add snap to the Windows Phone Mango OS. That being said, the Lumia has probably the best, darkest blacks I've ever seen on a phone, which is a very good thing in an optionally black-heavy OS like Windows Phone.

16GB of non-expandable memory is pretty low, especially given how great a media device this is. It's not a dealbreaker, especially if you use a subscription music service like Rdio, Spotify, or, I guess, Zune, but 32GB or more would be preferable. (with no microSD expansion--you're stuck with 16GB).

You can check the video of Nokia Lumia 800 here:

In addition, the camera is also great--not as good as the iPhone 4S, and, oddly, not as good as the older and worse-in-every-other-conceivable-way Nokia N8. But still, definitely one of the better cameras I've used. It uses an f/2.2 lens, and gives more manual control than other Windows Phones to take advantage of it. I was very pleased with the image quality.

The phone is ever so slightly thicker than the iPhone, a millimeter or two at most, so it still feels very sleek in the hand. The Nokia Lumia 800, although being the more expensive of the two Nokia Windows Phone offerings (the other being the budget Nokia Lumia 710) shares the Nokia N9's 16-bit AMOLED ClearBlack display whereas the Nokia Lumia 710 sports a 24-bit ClearBlack TFT.

Based on the two manufacturer's product specs it soon becomes apparent that the Nokia Lumia 800 is intended to compete against the HTC Titan and the Nokia Lumia 710 with the HTC Radar.

Nokia Lumia 800 Price
According to information in the market, Nokia Lumia 710 will be marketed with a very affordable price, at around 270 euros. While the price of Nokia Lumia 800 will be priced at 2x more expensive than the price of the Nokia Lumia 710.
