1) Disconnect your phone from PC or computer and enable USB debugging on your Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, see the steps below:
“Settings> Applications> Development> USB debugging” and check the USB debugging option.
2) Make sure your phone is already in the firmware of Android 4.0.2A.0.42. To check your phone see the steps below:
Go into Settings> About phone> Firmware Version.3) Visit to unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com and unlock the boot loader of your Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.
4) Download the ROM Ice Cream Sandwich beta for Xperia Play.
5) After this, it is necessary to place the downloaded file in the directory quick start and then extract the zip file contents. For example: .. \android-sdk\fastboot\Xperia_PLAY_ICS_beta.
