Apparently, Yahoo has been waiting for a long time to make a change of their advance, since the internet companies that led the three previous CEO, Terry Semel, Jerry Yang and Carol Bartz. And as is known, all three were fired because they were judged as being unable to perform their duty well.
Scott Thompson says that he is ready to lead Yahoo as CEO. He reveals what the priorities that will be done at Yahoo in order to restore the condition of the company.
Thompson stated under Yahoo's strategy to bring technology leadership and superior content. He underlined that Yahoo is still a strong brand and their services are always visited by 700 million Internet users in the worldwide.
"I fundamentally believe Yahoo's future depends on its ability to deliver great products," he said, quoted from SfGate, Thursday (05/01/2012).
Thompson previously served as president of PayPal also promising Yahoo will return a lot of innovation. He considered still much to do Yahoo and he wanted to prove it.
"I became very convinced that there is more business here than people understand. My job is to dig deeper, forming ideas, strategies and plans so that we can prove to the world that there is a valuable asset here," he added.
Thompson is optimistic that Yahoo will still be able to compete despite the latter considered to lag behind names such as Facebook and Google. Moreover, they have long been a player in the Internet world.
"One of our attractive asset is the amount of content from Yahoo that are social. We did not start from zero," he said.
