Electronics Arts (EA) has just released their new game, Battlefield 3. The result is quite a big success. First person shooter (FPS) is awarded as the fastest selling video game in the history of the manufacturer, Electronic Arts (EA).

EA announced Battlefield 3 sold 5 million copies in its first week of marketing. Platform game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this go on sale on October 25 and got great reviews from the analyst game. "Based on internal estimates, Battlefield 3 sold 5 million units in its first week of global marketing, making it the fastest selling game in the history of EA," EA said in a statement quoted from TechRadar on Tuesday (01/11/2011).

However, Battlefield 3 is powered by the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which is based on the previous Frostbite 1.5, which powered Bad Company 2. The new engine brings a lot of visual improvements and a lot of optimizations as well. However, please note that Battlefield 3 won’t support DirecX 9, meaning it won’t run on Windows XP.
